fotos Domingo

If I stick my head out the window and crane
my neck up, I can make out the sky. Othewise,
I'm completely walled in. This is very foreign.
Waking up has been difficult because my room
remains quite dark even after sunrise.

These plants help me! Happy plants, happy plants! We all
wish for more light!Mientras tanto, por lo menos nos tenemos a nosotros.

In barrio Embajadores, the streets fill up
every Sunday with people selling and buying
objects at the flea market, el Rastro.

You can find anything at the Rastro: toiletries, knick-knacks,
antique lamps, collector's stamps, baby clothes, second hand cloths,
toys, keys, locks, books, scarves, fans, etc, etc, etc...While were
walking through, we held our purses in front of us to avoid
being pick-pocketed. Afterall, parts of the rastro are absolutely packed
with people browsing, some of whom I'm sure venture there mainly
to steal. We saw an ordinary man reach toward an old man's trouser
pocket, going in for the steal. A vendor saw this and yelled at the theif
to stop, to leave the rastro, or he would call the police.

This is another auxiliar, from Oregon. Her
name is Shayna and she lives 5 min. away
from me. Here she is standing next to panuelos.

This frozen street artist sits reading an
article and pouring water into a cup...
the girl behind him...I have no idea why
she decided to get in the shot. Who
does she think she is?

Without public education, there is no future for this country

This is the zero kilometer point, located in the heart
of Madrid at Sol; supposedly, all highways in Spain
begin at this point.

What's odd about that man wearing a suit?

This is a frozen street artist "heading" toward the
demonstration.

Can anyone tell which US city this represents?

Gatitos sin hogares buscan su vida al lado del parque
botanico. We saw about 10 in this general area,
outside the botanical gardens, which cost money to see...
so I haven't seen them. I've been told they're not incredibly
more special than Parque del Retiro.

MALLARD DUCK SLEEPING..

Muchas tortuguitas floating in el lago.

Pretty pair of patos!

  1. I too have a hard time sleeping. I have the darkest room in the house. One window, and at no time of the day does light come shining through....bleh

  2. Where is the head of the man?
Paul says Bellingham. I have no idea what city.
So glad you have two oxygen giving plants and good food and that you are wary of pick pocketers.

    Miss you!
